OnSemi is seeking a Senior Principal Analog Design Engineer specializing in New Product Development for Power Management. Job Opening: Senior Principal Analog Design Engineer at OnSemi, Bengaluru, India
In this role, you will:
- Mentor junior Analog IC design engineers.
- Lead multiple analog IPs with complete ownership from definition to release to manufacturing.
- Resolve complex analog problems and implement effective solutions.
- Provide design guidance, develop schedules, and monitor project progress.
- Evaluate intermediate results during design and silicon evaluation phases to ensure technical objectives are met.
- Guide physical designers and monitor IC layout progress.
- Collaborate with Design Verification teams to complete all technical tasks before tapeout.
- Work with systems engineers, application engineers, and marketing teams to assist in product briefs, datasheets, application notes, and product definition to meet customer needs. Contribute to roadmap formulation and new concept creation.
- Collaborate with validation, product engineering, and test engineering teams for successful production transfer.
- Provide technical leadership in architecture design and circuit design based on high-level specifications.
- Own technical outcomes of design, verification, implementation, and execution of power management ICs, ranging from simple regulators to complex mixed-signal designs and control loops.
- Understand project goals, create realistic schedules and resource plans, track execution to plan, monitor progress, and provide full clarity to the team on goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 12+ years of experience, or MS with 10+ years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of delivering multiple complex IPs to manufacturing.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies.
- Goal-oriented with the ability to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to attract and retain key engineering talent.
- Experience in simplifying complex problems and solving them as a team.
- Strong understanding of various power converters (e.g., Buck, Boost, LDOs), gate drivers, comparators, linear regulators, and relevant analog building blocks.
- Knowledge of topologies and architectures for Constant-on-time, Peak and Valley Current Mode, Voltage Mode, Multi-Phase Controllers, and Smart Power Stages.
- Proficiency in DC-DC PMIC/POL, Multiphase controllers, Dr. MOS, AC-DC converters, LED drivers, and SiC devices.
- Strong Analog IC design skills and experience in debugging complex silicon problems using simulations and bench testing.
- Familiarity with advanced Bipolar, CMOS, and High Voltage BCD technology, process, device physics, and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of large power transistor (LDMOS) design, layout, and robustness.
- Proficiency with leading-edge design and verification tools such as Simplis, MATLAB, and Cadence Spectre.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and effectively with different functions.
