What is the concept of overdrive voltage in transistors, and how does it impact the performance of electronic devices in terms of current flow and switching speed?
Overdrive voltage as the “extra push” you give to a MOSFET. It’s simply the difference between gate voltage (Vgs) and threshold voltage (Vth). For example, if Vgs = 2V and Vth = 0.7V, then overdrive voltage is 1.3V. This extra voltage decides how strongly the MOSFET conducts.
