What are Resistance Capacitance and Inductance?
Resistance Capacitance and Inductance are primary components of an Electric circuit.
Resistance
All materials impede the flow of current to some extent. This property is called Resistance. Insulators have a very high resistance to current flow whereas Conductors have low resistance and allow current to flow freely. The unit of measure for Resistance is Ohms. The resistance of a wire on a chip is given by the following definition. #
Capacitance
Capacitance is the property of an electrical circuit that opposes a change in voltage. It enables a circuit or device to store an electric charge. The unit of measure for Capacitance is Farads. Area capacitance between two wires on a chip is given by the following equation.
Inductance
Inductance is the property of an electrical circuit that opposes any change in electric current. The unit of measure for Inductance is Henry.
