What is a VoIP Phone?
A VoIP phone, short for Voice over Internet Protocol phone, is a type of telephone that employs IP (Internet Protocol) technology to transmit phone calls. It comes in two forms: specialized digital hardware or software programs installed on computers or mobile devices, both serving the same purpose.
Equipped with a microphone and receiver, a VoIP phone captures your voice and converts it into data packets. These packets are then sent through the network and over the internet. On the receiving end, the data is decoded and played back, allowing the recipient to hear the conversation.
